Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series

The AMG GT is the latest Mercedes-Benz model to receive the Black Series treatment. As with other Black Series models, this is the fastest, most powerful, most extreme, and most track-focused version of the AMG GT yet. Powering the AMG GT Black Series is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 720 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. It launches from zero to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds and tops out at 202 mph. The Black Series gains a more aggressive appearance over other AMG GT models with a larger grille, larger hood and side vents, a full carbon fiber front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser, and roof, a satin black rear hatch, and a larger rear wing. Also unlike other AMG GT models, the Black Series is lined in mostly alcantara with contrasting orange stitching and features orange striping straight down the center of its AMG sport bucket seats. Another goal Mercedes-AMG had set with the GT Black Series was to beat the Nurburgring lap record at the time, and it did so with a time of 6:43.62.

Only around 1,700 examples of the AMG GT Black Series will ever be built, and I have already spotted a few of them. Pricing for the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series starts at $327,050. Overall, it is an amazing, unbelievable, and insane vehicle. Essentially, the AMG GT Black Series is a race car for the road, and I love it. There were three instances when I spotted an AMG GT Black Series in the wild, and I was absolutely thrilled every time. I have been waiting for a while to see one up close, and I am grateful I had the chance to do so three times in the past few months.

Pictured below are two examples of the AMG GT R, which slots right below the Black Series in the AMG GT lineup, that I saw earlier this year.
