This is another classic Chevy Bel Air wagon lowrider similar to the one I featured in a post on this site about two months ago that often gets confused with the Impala and flies under the radar. However, the example in this post is two years older. As with its successor, the '63 Bel Air offers a variety of engine options, has a pickup truck-style tailgate, and can seat up to six or nine passengers. The Bel Air was the mid-level trim for Chevy full-size wagons, slotting in between the entry-level Biscayne and the upscale Impala. This specific Bel Air wagon is powered by a 230 cu six-cylinder producing 140 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque. The 1963 Bel Air Wagon's engine options are paired to either a 4-speed manual or a 2-speed automatic. One notable exterior difference between the Bel Air and Impala from the 60s is their taillight design; the Bel Air has a dual taillight design, while the Impala has a triple taillight design.
In addition, this particular example has a body-colored interior and panels covering the rear wheels. Values for the 1963 Chevy Bel Air vary depending on its condition and specification, but I anticipate that this example is currently valued anywhere between $40,000 and $60,000. For those of you who know me and/or follow this site, I have a soft spot for cool wagons, and this 1963 Chevy Bel Air is no different. I saw this specific example at a car show in mid May, and it was one of my favorite vehicles on display there.
Lastly, this marks the 600th post on Carson's Car Pics!
