The CT4 is Cadillac's entry-level sedan. It debuted in 2019 alongside its bigger sibling, the CT5, as the successor to the ATS. Like with the CT5, the performance-focused V and V Blackwing versions of the CT4 debuted a year and two years after the base CT4 respectively. Like with the CT5, the V and V Blackwing versions of the smaller CT4 are very similar, except there are some noticeable differences between the two.
Let's begin with the CT4-V (pictured below). It slots below the Blackwing and is powered by a 2.7-liter turbo four-cylinder producing 325 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. It launches from zero to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 156 mph.
As for the top-of-the-line CT4-V Blackwing (pictured above), it is powered by a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 producing 472 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic gearbox. It launches from zero to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and carries a top speed of 189 mph. Adaptive dampers, an electronic limited-slip differential, and a powerful braking system are standard on the CT4-V Blackwing. The CT4-V Blackwing also adds additional carbon fiber trim and side air vents to further distinguish it from the CT4-V and other CT4 models.
Pricing starts at around $46,000 for the CT4-V and $60,000 for the CT4-V Blackwing. In all, the Cadillac CT4-V and CT4-V Blackwing are quite similar to the bigger CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing in many ways, and the latter has stolen some of the former's thunder since they both debuted at roughly the same time. However, despite their shortcomings, the CT4-V and CT4-V Blackwing are solid performance vehicles and improvements over the ATS-V that they replace.
