2014 Los Angeles Auto Show: Lexus LF-C2 Concept
This is the Lexus LF-C2 concept, a preview of a potential RC convertible. For those of you who don't know, the "LF" used in Lexus concepts stands for "Lexus Future." Engine and performance details weren't specified, but I'm pretty sure it has similar power plants to that of the RC and IS. Notable styling features include Lexus' signature spindle grille with a "braided mesh theme," aerodynamic mirrors, a quad exhaust, 20-inch five-spoke alloys, and LED headlamps. The LF-C2's interior is similar to that of the RC, with a full-length center console, new touchscreen controls, and two-tone leather padding. Unfortunately, Lexus has decided not to bring the LF-C2 to production because they didn't think a production-spec RC convertible would sell very well, plus dealers didn't find it very appealing to add to their inventory. Instead, Lexus will use their development money towards a three-row crossover that will compete against vehicles like the Audi Q7 and BMW X5. As a result, the three-row crossover will satisfy dealers and be a profit-maker for Lexus. In my opinion, the LF-C2 is a nice concept and it would be great if this car was green-lit for production. However, this concept would look better without the yellow body color in my opinion.
