2014 Los Angeles Auto Show: Cadillac ATS-V
Cadillac introduced the all-new ATS-V at this year's L.A. Auto Show. It is intended to compete head on with the likes of the BMW M3/M4. Under the hood is a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 churning out around 450 horses and 450 foot-pounds of torque. It can reach 60 mph in less than four seconds and a top speed of over 180 mph. The ATS-V comes standard with a six-speed manual with active rev-matching, while an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters and launch control is optional. It also includes Brembo high-performance brakes, Magnetic Ride Control, Performance Traction Management, a structural stiffness increased by 25 percent for improved cornering, three driving modes selectable by the driver (touring, sport, track), and an optional track aero package that generates downforce. Just so you know, many of the new exterior components, such as the hood vent, larger grille, and rear spoiler, are completely functional and not only for show. Inside, the ATS-V features Recaro performance seats and a 5.7-inch three-window instrument display with Bluetooth and OnStar 4G LTE connectivity (also standard on all 2014 & newer GM vehicles). Official pricing for the ATS-V has yet to be confirmed. In my opinion, the Cadillac ATS-V is a great car and it will annihilate the BMW M3/4 in a direct comparison test (this is also the same when competing in a drag race or track battle). Also, you can't go wrong with either sedan or coupe. Pictures below are of the standard Cadillac ATS sedan and coupe.
P.S. Sorry for the delay on this post and the next few posts regarding the L.A. Auto Show. I know you guys have been wanting to see more coverage, so thanks for waiting patiently.
