Best of Porsche Club Cars & Coffee (December 2025)

 Kicking off the final month of 2025 is the latest edition of the monthly Porsche Club Cars & Coffee. This month's PCA Cars & Coffee featured a similar turnout in size and selection to the past several monthly meets. However, unlike the past several Porsche cars and coffees, this month's meet featured a toy drive for the holidays, a few spots reserved for the club's recent autocross winners, and some newcomer examples that I had not previously seen up close before. These most notable newcomer examples at this month's Porsche Club Cars & Coffee consisted of two unique-spec 992 911 GT3 RS examples, a recently-acquired Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo track car that was showcased in my previous post, and a bright blue 992.1 911 GT3 that I have seen similar examples of but do not remember seeing there before. There was also a 718 Cayman GT4 RS example that appeared this month and was new to my local Porsche cars and coffee that I had recognized from previously seeing it on display and for sale at my local Porsche showroom. In addition, the weather got significantly colder this month compared to the past several months' cars and coffees. 

As per usual, I have compiled photos I took of the coolest and my favorite cars I saw on display at the last Porsche Club Cars & Coffee of 2025. December is off to a great start, and this first cars and coffee of the month was an incredible one with plenty of amazing vehicles on display. Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo

 

The 488 Challenge is the track-only version of the 488 GTB developed for the manufacturer-specific Ferrari Challenge racing series. Produced from 2016 to 2023, the Ferrari 488 Challenge is powered by a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 with 670 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. It launches from zero to 62 mph in about 2.8 seconds and can accomplish a top speed of around 211 mph. The 488 Challenge example pictured in this post is the Evo version, which features a host of upgrades and enhancements over the standard 488 Challenge. These upgrades on the 488 Challenge Evo consist of a 50 percent increase in downforce, a revised front bumper and splitter, a larger, repositioned rear wing, new Pirelli tires, and improved brakes. The Evo package for the 488 Challenge was introduced in 2019 for the 2020 Ferrari Challenge series. 

Ferrari replaced the 488 Challenge with the 296 Challenge for its one-make racing series starting for 2024. Pricing for the 488 Challenge averages between $150,000 and $160,000 on the resale market. This particular example is the first Ferrari 488 factory race car that I have seen up close, which occurred at the latest Porsche Club Cars and Coffee on the first Saturday morning of December. In fact, it has been several years since I had last seen any Ferrari race car in person before Saturday morning. Prior to the first car meet I attended this December, I had seen online that this 488 race car's owner recently acquired it as his dedicated track toy and the latest addition to his car collection. Not only was this a new vehicle in my local car scene, but this 488 Challenge Evo was certainly one of the coolest, most interesting, most unique, and most unusual vehicles on display at the first of two cars and coffees I attended Saturday morning. To no surprise, it also attracted the largest crowd around it at this month's PCA Cars & Coffee.  Overall, the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo is an amazing and impressive race car, and it is always a great day when I stumble on a track-only car at a car show or meet when I least expect to.
