McLaren 750S Spider

The 750S is McLaren's newest "mainstream" Super Series supercar and practically a 720S with a mid-cycle refresh. It was introduced for 2024 as the 720S' replacement in the McLaren lineup, and the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 from the 720S has been bumped up to 740 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque in the 750S. Like its 720S predecessor, power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox in the 750S. The latest "mainstream" Super Series McLaren launches from zero to 60 mph in 2.3 seconds and can reach a claimed top speed of 206 mph. The 750S' styling changes over the 720S are fairly minor up front and more significant in back. It's front-end design changes are around the front splitter, which consists of a greater use of body coloring than bare carbon fiber. Rear-end styling changes on the 750S consist of a redesigned rear spoiler, a central exhaust setup, and larger vents for improved airflow through the vehicle. It also contains a variety of added aerodynamic bits for increased downforce over its 720S predecessor along with McLaren's latest version of its hydraulic suspension with lightweight springs and dampers for better handling. Another notable feature of the 750S is its ability to swiftly raise its nose with the press of a button to more easily clear speed bumps, parking lot entrances that can scrape bumpers, and steep driveways.

Inside, the 750S' cabin is strikingly similar to that of the 720S with its minimalistic layout. Alcantara interior trim is standard in the 750S, while it can be optioned with leather as well. Unlike most new cars, the 750S' steering wheel is devoid of buttons. A 7-inch vertical infotainment display houses most of the 750S' controls like climate, ambient lighting, and Apple CarPlay. Its 360-degree rearview camera contains a better resolution than that of its 720S predecessor. As for the 750S Spider specifically, it weighs about 100 pounds heavier and contains less rear cargo space than the coupe due to the power-operated folding top. All told, many of these changes shed about 30 to 100 pounds off of the 750S from the 720S depending on the specific versions of each being compared.

Pricing for the McLaren 750S starts at around $330,000. This year's Exotics on Broadway marked my first time ever seeing the 750S in person, with a total of six different examples, each of them being Spiders, being displayed at or spotted near the latest rendition of the biggest show of Monterey Car Week. This show featured several different McLarens, but besides the limited-production Ultimate Series models in the P1 and Senna, the 750S was one of the most intriguing and post-worthy McLarens from Exotics on Broadway 2024. This is due to it being one of the newest models from the British supercar manufacturer that I had not seen up close prior to this show. Overall, the 720S was already a great and amazing supercar, and McLaren improved on this with the latest 750S without needing to  completely transform it.
