The E9 was BMW's flagship coupe from the late 60s to the mid 70s and the modern 6 Series' and current 8 Series' grandfather. The main focus of this post will be on the 3.0 CSi, which is the sportier version of the 3.0 CS series and was made from 1971 to 1975. "3.0" refers to the vehicle's engine, while the "i" after the "CS" refers to fuel injection. Its engine is BMW's M30 3.0-liter inline-six producing 200 horsepower and paired to either a three-speed manual or a four-speed manual. Besides the fuel injection system, the 3.0 CSi has a slightly higher compression ratio of 9.5:1 compared to the 3.0 CS' 9:1 compression ratio. Otherwise, both versions are practically the same. The 3.0 CSi is currently valued in the $70k-80k range. I'm not the biggest BMW guy, but there are plenty of BMW models that I like, and the 3.0 CSi is certainly one of them. It is a beautiful classic Bimmer that is built and engineered well, and I find it cooler than most modern Bimmers as well.
