Ferrari Purosangue

 

The Purosangue is Ferrari's first entrant into the premium high-performance SUV world. It debuted for the 2024 model year and is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 with 715 horsepower and 528 pound-feet of torque, sending power to all four wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Ferrari claims that the Purosangue can launch from zero to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and accomplish a top speed of 193 mph. It features an active suspension with electric motors at each corner of the vehicle that nearly eliminates body roll and greatly contributes to its sports car-like handling. Not only is it a proper four-seater, the Purosangue contains rear-hinged rear doors to access the second row seats, creating a unique door setup and method of entry for an SUV. Its interior is lined in only the finest-quality materials and consists of four individual bucket seats and center consoles for both front and back rows. In addition, most of the vehicle's controls are located on the steering wheel, and while there is no center-mounted touchscreen, a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster display and a separate 10.2-inch front passenger touchscreen are standard in the Purosangue. 

Pricing for the Ferrari Purosangue starts at around $430,000, solidifying it as one of the most expensive SUVs on sale. This past weekend marked my first time ever seeing a Ferrari Purosangue in person, which occurred at the latest edition of my local Porsche Club Cars & Coffee. The Purosangue was one of several new Ferrari models that I wanted to see in person, and I am glad that I was able to do so  Saturday morning. Its owner, who currently has several exotic cars in his collection, told me at this latest cars and coffee that this is his newest family car. This Purosangue was one of many European exotics that appeared at this month's Porsche Club Cars & Coffee that were in a tier above all other cars present there, which I will share more about in the next post. Overall, the Ferrari Purosangue is one of the coolest, most stylish, and most impressive SUVs in existence. While Ferrari may have been late to the SUV party, the Italian Prancing Horse supercar manufacturer did a great job in creating its first SUV, and it was definitely worth the wait.
