The Agera ('to act' in Swedish) is the third series of Koenigsegg models ever made and Koenigsegg's primary model during the 2010s, succeeding the CCX. Several versions, one-offs, and special editions were produced, but the main focus of this post will be on the three Ageras that I saw on display at Exotics on Broadway in Monterey almost two weeks ago: two RS's and the HH.
Let's begin with the HH (pictured below). The Koenigsegg Agera HH is a one-off model based on the Agera S and customized for its original owner, Danish programmer David Heinemeier Hansson. It's a one-of-a-kind Agera painted in blue with clear carbon fiber accents and the only Agera S in the U.S. Powering the Agera S and HH is a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 1,030 horsepower and 811 lb-ft of torque paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch with paddle shifters. It launches from zero to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 272 mph. The HH also has an interior that almost matches the exterior in terms of its color scheme. The Agera S' production run lasted from 2012 to 2014.
The RS was added to the Agera lineup in 2015 and is a combination of the Agera R and S models. Its 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 has been upgraded to 1,160 horsepower and 944 lb-ft of torque, with a bigger increase in power to 1,341 horsepower and 1,011 lb-ft of torque with the 1-Megawatt package. The Agera RS can reach a top speed of 277.8 mph, which currently holds the world record for the fastest production car. It also adds a more aggressive carbon fiber front splitter, rear diffuser, winglets, and a larger rear wing over other versions of the Agera. Only 25 units of the Agera RS were ever built from 2015 to 2018, and each one was bespoken to their individual customers. As a result, no two Agera RS examples are identical. Each Agera RS carried a starting price of $2.55 million when new and was sold out instantly. I have seen three Agera RS examples in person so far: the two in this post that were on display at Exotics on Broadway and the Agera RS1 that I spotted in London during the summer of 2017.
As for the two Agera RS models at this year's Exotics on Broadway, one was the Agera RS Draken ('Dragon' in Swedish), which is finished in exposed carbon fiber with white accents and features crushed diamonds. The other Agera RS had a vibrant and colorful wrap that makes it stand out even more than it already does. In fact, I believe I have previously seen all three Agera models in this post in photos and video clips online before finally seeing them in person nearly two weeks ago.
In all, the Koenigsegg Agera models are some of my top all-time favorite vehicles. I love the Koenigsegg Agera, especially the Agera RS, and like the Jesko and Pagani Huayra that I have previously posted so far from this year's Exotics on Broadway, I view it as one of the coolest cars in the world. Their performance and sophistication are unmatched, and these are incredibly rare and truly insane vehicles that most people are unaware of and rarely, if ever, get to see in the flesh.
