Acura NSX (1991-2005)

The NSX is the best Honda product in existence. It is sold with an Acura badge in North America while overseas markets get the NSX with a Honda badge. In the late 1980's, Honda created its premium division Acura for the North American market. Today, the only other market where Acuras are sold is mainland China. They are reliable and tend to be less expensive than other premium automakers; however, most Acuras aren't all that exciting. The NSX is exciting compared to other Hondas and Acuras; it can compete on the same level as Ferrari and was priced at around $100k when new, which is relatively affordable for a supercar. Nowadays a used NSX in excellent condition with low miles can sell for around $30k, which is a pretty good deal if you ask me. Engine options range from a 3.0-liter V6 with about 250 horses and a 3.2-liter V6 with about 290 horses, which were placed in the middle of the car. As most of you are already aware, there will be a brand new Acura/Honda NSX coming next year. It will look very similar to the concept unveiled a couple years ago and have a hybrid powertrain, specifically a V6 paired to two electric motors. Like the McLaren P1, Porsche 918 Spyder, and LaFerrari, the electric motors add horsepower and torque, but also increases the weight of the vehicle. Combined output for the upcoming NSX is expected to be around 560 horses. Unlike its predecessor (featured here), the 2015 NSX will have all-wheel drive instead of rear-wheel drive (the V6 engine powers the rear wheels while the electric motors power the front). The Acura NSX has been named the most reliable supercar from the past decade by a few auto publications, I just can't remember which ones. It is a very cool car and can go pretty fast, but I would opt for the closest competitor from Ferrari and/or Lamborghini before this car. In my opinion, the NSX looks best painted red. The second one (in silver and black) looks like a street-legal Pikes Peak Hill Climb racer. The fourth one (in red, pre-facelift model) is currently on display in the Petersen Auto Museum in Los Angeles. The last six photos in this compilation were all taken sometime last month.
