Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder (2004-2012)
The Gallardo is currently Lamborghini's all-time best seller. Production for it wrapped up this year, with approximately 14,000 units built throughout its 10-year history. It's direct replacement is the Huracan, which shares many of its underpinnings with the Audi R8 (same goes with its predecessor, except the R8 is more tame) and will go on sale either later this year or early next year. I think it's a worthy successor to the Gallardo. Featured above is the LP560-4 Spyder, which is the most popular variant of the Gallardo where I'm from. This Gallardo model is Vitaly's preferred vehicle of choice for some of his pranks (For those who don't know Vitaly, he is a famous prankster on YouTube. He does some really epic pranks. Check out his channel at www.youtube.com/vitalyzdtv.). The Lamborghini Gallardo and Huracan follow the same formula: mid-engine, all-wheel drive (the Gallardo LP550-2 is rear-wheel drive), naturally aspirated V10. One interesting fact about the Gallardo is that it doesn't have Lamborghini's iconic butterfly doors; those are limited to only their V12 models (e.g. Murcielago, Aventador, Diablo, Countach). Why I listed the model years 2004-2012 is because the examples shown above were from those model years. The 2013 model was given a revised front fascia, a revised rear end, and a minor power boost. These changes lasted till the 2014 model year and was discontinued afterward. The Lamborghini Gallardo is an excellent car and will definitely become a valuable, collectible classic one day. One more thing I should mention, the third example in this compilation (second-gen, in black) belongs to my friend. Also, pictured below is first-gen Superleggera (means "superlight" in Italian), one of my favorite versions of the Gallardo (in general, doesn't necessarily apply to the first-gen model), along with the Super Trofeo Stradale and Squadra Corse. The only other first-gen model in this gallery is the yellow Spyder right above.
