2025 Porsche 911 Carrera (992.2)

Porsche has given its quintessential 911 sports car a mid-cycle refresh for 2025. Since both examples pictured here are of the base version of the standard 992.2 Porsche 911, this specific model will be the main focus of this post. The rear-mounted 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six from the 992.1 911 Carrera has been boosted by nine horsepower to 388, while torque figures remain steady at 331 pound-feet. This small power bump shaves a tenth of a second off of the 992.1 911 Carrera's 0 to 60 mph time down to 3.9 seconds in the 992.2 911 Carrera. Top speed for the 992.2 911 Carrera is rated at 183 mph. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox in the newest base 911 Carrera. Exterior styling changes on the 992.2 911 Carrera consist of new bumpers, lights, wheels, mirrors, and aerodynamic improvements. The 992.2 Porsche 911's interior receives minor updates as well, most notably a fully digital gauge cluster, which is a first for the Porsche 911. The biggest addition to the latest mid-cycle refresh of the Porsche 911 is the introduction of the T-Hybrid powertrain system to the GTS model, which implements an electric turbocharger and electric motor/generator for increased performance and efficiency over all other standard 911 models.

Pricing for the 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera starts at just over $122,000. I saw the latest 992.2 Porsche 911 in person for the first time last month at my local Porsche club's cars and coffee, while the second example pictured in this post is a recent arrival at my local Porsche dealer. I have been looking forward to seeing the newest rendition of the quintessential Porsche sports car due to its minor design revisions and performance upgrades, plus it has only been on sale for the past few months. The first example from last month's Porsche club cars and coffee looks great, while the second example at my local Porsche showroom stands out above nearly every other base 911 due to its shade of bright minty green. Overall, I see the latest mid-cycle refresh as an all-around improvement for the Porsche 911, and it still remains a fantastic sports car.
