McLaren Senna/GTR (Exotics on Broadway 2024)

The Senna is one of the most significant Ultimate Series and limited-production McLaren models not designated as a pinnacle “One” supercar (F1, P1, W1). McLaren debuted the Senna in 2018 for the 2019 model year and named this particular supercar after the late Brazilian Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna. Powering the Senna is a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 producing 789 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. It launches from zero to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and can accomplish a top speed of 208 mph. The Senna's design may not be the most beautiful and can be somewhat controversial, but several of its aspects are functional and aid the vehicle's aerodynamics, and I still see it as a decent-looking supercar like every other McLaren.

The other version of the McLaren Senna that appeared at Exotics on Broadway for the second consecutive year is the GTR. The Senna GTR is originally a track-only version of the third-ever Ultimate Series McLaren model behind the F1 and P1. At least a handful of Senna GTRs have been converted and modified for street use, including the one pictured in this post finished in neon yellow with contrasting pink and light blue curved stripes and the two examples that appeared at last year's show. The Senna GTR bumps its horsepower figure by 25 over the base Senna to 814 and adds a bigger front splitter and rear diffuser, wider front and rear fenders, body panels connecting the rear wing and rear diffuser, and an improved suspension system. In addition, the Senna GTR generates up to 2204 pounds (1000 kg) of downforce, 540 pounds (200 kg) more than the base Senna.

Only 500 McLaren Sennas and 75 Senna GTRs were built from 2019 to 2020, with average values on the resale market currently holding steady at around $1.3 million to $1.5 million. This year's Exotics on Broadway show in Monterey featured three total Sennas on display, specifically two base Sennas and one Senna GTR, a decrease from five Sennas at last year's show. The first Senna pictured in this post in white with blue accents also appeared at last year's Exotics on Broadway show, while the other two were specific examples I had not previously seen up close before the biggest car event I attended and will attend this year. As for the third Senna in red and chrome, it was one of two vehicles brought out to the latest rendition of Exotics on Broadway by automotive YouTube content creators known as Daily Driven Exotics, who normally bring at least a few vehicles from their collection to Monterey Car Week from Western Canada every year. Overall, the Senna is a wonderful and amazing limited-production McLaren supercar, and the three examples pictured in this post were the second-coolest McLarens behind the P1s from a few posts back that appeared at Exotics on Broadway in 2024.
