2018 Lexus LC500/h

The LC500/h is Lexus' new halo model, based on the incredible LF-LC concept from three years ago and replacing the SC. However, it doesn't quite fill the gap left by the LF-A in Lexus' lineup two years ago. The LC (Luxury Coupe) is intended to compete against the likes of the BMW 6 Series and Mercedes-Benz SL. The base LC is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 producing 471 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. It can launch from 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds, onto a top speed of 168 mph. On the other hand, the LC hybrid is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 paired to an electric motor, squeezing out 354 horses and 257 ft-lbs. of torque combined. 0 to 60 is accomplished in five seconds, capable of hitting a top speed of 155 mph. Both LC models come standard with a ten-speed automatic gearbox. Fuel economy numbers for the Lexus LC500 are rated at 19/28 mpg city/hwy and 30/38 mpg city/hwy for the LC500h. It weighs in at 4300 lbs, while the hybrid version hits the scales at 4450 lbs mainly due to the electric motor. The vehicle is made of mostly high-strength steel and carbon fiber. The Lexus LC will go on sale in the spring starting at approximately $90,000 and topping out at just over $100,000. In my opinion, the LC is a marvelous, highly sophisticated car guaranteed to turn heads everywhere it goes. Neither LC model is a slouch, and they deserve as much respect as its closest competitors and other performance vehicles. I greatly recommend the non-hybrid LC unless fuel efficiency is your top concern. Displayed below is the Lexus LF-LC Concept.
