Mercedes-Benz SL roadster (1990-2002)

  • 3.0L I6, 5.0L V8, 6.0L V12
  • 228-389 hp
  • 5-spd auto, 4-spd auto, 5-spd man.
The Mercedes-Benz SL is an excellent car, but the R129 wasn't the best generation. In my opinion, the best generation of the SL is the R231 (2013-).

Plymouth Valiant (1967-1973)

I was unable to find any reliable, accurate information about this car. Remember that there are many cars in this world that I am unfamiliar with, just telling you now. These are hard to find nowadays. Most examples of the Plymouth Valiant are probably in junkyards, I'm not sure.

Porsche 911 Carrera 997 rear seven-eighths (2005-2011)

  • 3.6L V6, 3.8L V6
  • 321-350 bhp
  • RWD
  • 5-spd auto, 6-spd man.
  • 0-60 mph in 4.7-4.5 seconds
  • Top speed: 180-188 mph
One reason why there may be a lot of Porsches on here is because the U.S. is Porsche's biggest market and most Porsches in the U.S. are sold in California. The 911 is my favorite Porsche. One important aspect of this car is that the engine is in the rear. Most cars today aren't like that. Also, the Porsche 911 is turning 50 this year.

1971 Ford Torino Squire station wagon

  • 302 cu V8, 351 cu V8, 429 cu V8
  • RWD
  • 3-spd man., 3-spd auto
  • 210-370 hp
  • 296-450 lb-ft of torque

This and the next few cars I saw in the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles. Why this part of L.A.? My aunt and uncle live there. This Torino Squire appears to be original and unrestored. It also appears to have sat there for many years untouched. It probably needs more work done to it in order for it to be of motor show quality.

Pontiac Bonneville Safari (late '70s-early '80s)

I was unable to find any information about this car. This was in the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles. In Los Angeles, all types of cars are popular and common, but the types of cars that are most popular are imports, hybrids, and electric vehicles. The Pontiac Bonneville may not be the best of cars, but it's one of the last examples of American full-size station wagons. As most of you are aware, wagons are way more popular in Europe than here in the U.S. Also, this is probably one of the few examples of this car still on the road today. Pretty interesting.

Highlight Of My So Cal/Vegas Trip During Spring Break

Let me share with you something that I will never forget for as long as I'm alive. A few months before my spring break trip, my parents made arrangements for me to go tour Jay Leno's garage and meet him in person. For those who don't know who Jay Leno is, he is the host of "The Tonight Show", a comedian, and a fellow car enthusiast. He has over 150 cars and 110 motorcycles. He also has one of the best car collections in the world. After I toured his garage, I went to the Tonight Show Studio and saw the taping of his show. The taping I went to see featured Keith Urban, Paula Deen, and Django Django, some band I'm unfamiliar with. After the taping, I got to meet Jay Leno. He seems like a very nice person. I definitely enjoyed it. Also, I don't have any pictures from the garage tour because they don't let you take pictures inside the garage.

Ford Mustang rear three-quarters & front end (2005-2009)

  • 4.0L V6
  • 210 hp
  • 240 lb-ft of torque
This was somewhere on Interstate 15 between Las Vegas and Los Angeles. This example looked pretty nice and might be more powerful than the stock V6 model.

Jaguar XKR-S (2012-)

  • 5.0L V8
  • 550 hp
  • 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds
  • 502 lb-ft of torque
  • RWD
  • Top speed: 186 mph
  • 6-spd auto
  • MSRP: $132,000
I saw this and a few other supercars on my way to Red Rock Canyon. I also saw an Audi R8 Spyder, Ferrari 458 Italia, Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder Performante, and another Jaguar XKR-S in dark red. It seemed like these supercars came out of nowhere, so I was only able to get this one picture.

Rolls-Royce Phantom (2003-)

  • 6.75L V12
  • 6-spd auto, 8-spd auto
  • 453 hp
  • 531 lb-ft of torque
  • RWD
  • Curb weight: 5800 lbs.
  • 0-60 mph in under 6 seconds
  • Top speed: 150 mph
  • MSRP: $380,000-$450,000

The first one in green I saw near Caesars Palace and the next one in dark blue was in front of Caesars Palace in Vegas. The Rolls-Royce Phantom is one of my all-time favorite cars. The most enjoyable part of this car is riding in the backseat (I haven't ridden in the backseat of a Phantom yet, if you're wondering. The closest experience was riding in the backseat of my dad's BMW 750li many times.) In the Phantom, there are reclining seats, a rear entertainment system, rear-seat tables, and a 26-speaker premium sound system. Pretty cool, eh?

1957 Chevy 210

  • 283 cu V8
  • 185-283 hp
  • 3-spd man., 2-spd auto
I saw this in front of the Tropicana Hotel & Casino in Vegas. The '57 Chevy is an excellent piece of artwork.

Chevy Camaro SS Convertible (2011-)

  • 6.2L V8
  • 6-spd man.
  • RWD
  • 426 hp
  • 420 lb-ft of torque
  • MSRP: $39,585-$42,185
This is another one of those cars you can win from playing those slot machines. Chances you'll win grand prizes like this are one in a million. This Camaro is inside Mandalay Bay in Vegas. I love the Camaro, but I prefer the coupe over the convertible.

NASCAR #18 Toyota Camry Driven by Kyle Busch (Gen-5 car)

I couldn't find any information about the Gen-5 Camry, so I will provide you with information about the Gen-6 Camry. Here it is:
  • 358 cu Toyota Racing V8
  • 850 hp
  • 4-spd man.
  • Top speed over 200 mph

The first two pictures were from the M&M Store in Vegas. The third picture I took at the L.A. Auto Show back in December, which is of the Gen-6 car. Speaking of NASCAR, Brian Vickers won the Sprint Cup Series race at New Hampshire earlier today. Kyle Busch finished 2nd and Jeff Burton finished third. The best car currently being used in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is the Chevy SS. My favorite driver is Jimmie Johnson and he finished 6th in today's race at New Hampshire.

BMW M6 F12 (2013-)

  • 4.4L V8
  • 7-spd DCT
  • RWD
  • 560 hp
  • 502 lb-ft of torque
  • 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds
  • Top speed (electronically limited): 155 mph
  • MSRP: $106,100
In my opinion, the M6 is the best BMW currently being made. This is a great car overall.

Ferrari 430 Scuderia V8 engine & rear

This was in the same shopping mall in Vegas that the McLaren was in. It looks like this example has been modified and is lighter and faster than stock. It also looks good except for all the stickers on it.

Ferrari 430 Scuderia front three-quarters, side, rear three-quarters (2008-2009)

  • RWD
  • 4.3L V8
  • 503 hp
  • 347 lb-ft of torque
  • 0-62 mph in 3.6 seconds
  • Top speed: 198 mph
  • 6-spd man.

McLaren MP4-12C rear, side, & front (2012-)

This was in a shopping mall in Vegas. The stickers are there for advertisement. At Las Vegas Motor Speedway, you can rent a supercar and drive it around for $200 a lap. If you were wondering, I didn't do that when I was in Vegas. Also, the McLaren MP4-12C is a great car.

McLaren MP4-12C rear & front three-quarters

  • 3.8L twin-turbo V8
  • 7-spd DCT
  • 616 hp
  • 443 lb-ft of torque
  • 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds
  • Top speed: 205 mph
  • RWD
  • MSRP: $231,400

Continental GT (2003-2011)
  • 6.0L W12
  • 552 hp
  • 479 lb-ft of torque

I saw the Continental Supersports in Vegas first while I saw the Continental GT below it later that day.

  • 6.75L V8
  • 450-500 hp
  • 645-740 lb-ft  of torque

  • Top speed: 168-179 mph

Ferrari 458 Spider

  • 398 lb-ft of torque
  • 0-60 mph in 3.4 sec.
  • Top speed: 198 mph
  • MSRP: $257,000
I included the second picture because I couldn't get the whole car in the picture. Also, this will be one of the only times I will use a picture I found on the Internet on here.

BMW M5 E60 (2005-2012)

  • 5.0L V10
  • 6-spd man., 7-spd man.
  • 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.7 sec.
  • Top speed (electronically limited): 155 mph, 205 mph (delimited)
  • RWD
You should already be aware that this car and the next several cars featured on here are from my trip to Las Vegas back in late March. Lots more from there coming up.

Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet 991 (2012-)

  • 3.4L V6
  • 7-spd man.
  • RWD
  • 350-400 hp
  • 287-325 lb-ft  of torque
  • 0-60 mph in 4.8-4.4 sec.
  • Top speed: 177-187 mph
  • MSRP: $93,700 - $108,000
I saw the first one in Vegas and Caesars Palace appears in the background. I included the second picture because I was unable to get the whole car in the picture. I took the second picture when I was  at the 2012 L.A. Auto Show. As some of you may recall, Porsche unveiled the new Cayman there. Also, I prefer the 911 over the Boxster/Cayman.

Ford T-Bucket interior

This is the best shot I could get of the interior. All you can probably see is the steering wheel.

Ford T-Bucket rear

Ford T-Bucket front end

I have now made it easier for you to see the part of the car  blocked by the fence: the front end, also an important part of the T-Bucket.

Monday, July 1, 2013

Ford T-Bucket front three-quarters

Again, the fence makes it hard to see some parts of the car, sorry about that.
