Rimac Automobili Concept One

Some of you may be familiar with this vehicle while others of you will find it very unusual. This is the Rimac Concept One, an insane electric hypercar created by a start-up manufacturer in Croatia. It is powered by an 82-kWh battery churning out 1088 horses and 1180 foot-pounds of torque, mated to a two-speed dual clutch. The Concept One can hit 60 mph from a standstill in 2.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 220 mph. It is one of the quickest electric vehicles on the planet, alongside the Tesla Model S P100D; I have no idea which car would win in any sort of race, especially a 1/4-mile or 1/2- mile drag race. The Croatian electric hypercar has an estimated range of 210 miles. Other notable features include an All Wheel Torque Vectoring system, 15-inch carbon-ceramic brakes, an adjustable electromagnetic suspension, and a body made entirely of carbon fiber. As expected, pricing for the Rimac Concept One is out of reach for many, starting at about $989k. When I saw this vehicle in person at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, it blew me away. The Concept One's design and technology are absolutely marvelous, to say the least. Overall, the Rimac Concept One is a game changer, and more performance cars like it are expected to roll out in the near future.
