The 2023 R8 GT is the final edition of the second-generation Audi R8, Audi's longtime flagship supercar. It is also a more track-focused R8, powered by a 5.2-liter V10 with 602 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission sending power to the rear wheels. The GT adds a front splitter, rear diffuser, front and rear canards, exclusive multi-spoke forged wheels, and a more prominent rear wing over the base and all-wheel drive R8s. A carbon-fiber anti-roll bar is standard in the R8 GT and optional in all other versions of the R8. In addition, the 2023 R8 GT is the only R8 to feature Torque Rear, which is Audi-speak for drift mode. European-spec R8 GTs offered an optional adjustable coil-over suspension, while the U.S.-spec R8 GTs only came with a fixed setup.
Only 333 examples of the Audi R8 GT were ever built for 2023, with 150 of those examples allocated for the U.S. This marks my third sighting and third example of the 2023 R8 GT that I've seen in person, which occurred a few days ago at the time I am writing this post. It is currently for sale at my local Audi/Porsche dealer priced at close to $270,000. This particular R8 GT arrived in my local Audi/Porsche dealer's inventory sometime after my previous visit before Friday in late April, making this one of the primary reasons why I made my most recent visit to this dealer on Friday. From my understanding, Audi plans to make its next-generation R8 fully electric, making this latest R8 GT one of the last V10-powered vehicles ever made. In all, the 2023 Audi R8 GT is an outstanding and incredibly rare supercar that marks the end of production for one of the coolest and greatest Audis of all time.
