Dodge Charger (2011-14)

The outgoing Dodge Charger is a very nice car; it is fast, practical, and aggressive. The Charger is based on Chrysler's LX platform, which is shared with the Challenger, discontinued Magnum, and Chrysler 300. The models shown above are listed in this particular order: R/T 100th Anniversary Edition, SRT8 Core, SXT, SE, and SRT8. It has the same engine lineup as the Challenger, which includes the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, 5.7-liter HEMI V8, and 6.4-liter HEMI V8. Rear-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is optional. Approximately two weeks ago, Dodge unveiled the 2015 Charger at the New York Auto Show. The 2015 model receives a revised front end, revised back end, and a refreshed interior. Its styling is mainly influenced by the smaller Dart. In my opinion, the 2014 model looks somewhat better than the 2015 model. Also, the 2015 Charger receives a new eight-speed automatic transmission that increases performance and fuel efficiency. Finally, the Dodge Charger makes a great cop car. They are used as police cruisers where I live, if you were wondering. I have always liked the Dodge Charger, but I don't find it as appealing as a Chevy SS when it comes to large RWD sport sedans.

Dodge Challenger (2008-2014)

The Challenger is one of my favorite Chrysler products. It is available with a 5.7L (R/T) and 6.4L HEMI V8 (SRT8), which are both great engines. It also looks really good and is pretty fast. The Challenger models pictured above are listed in this particular order: R/T Shaker, 100th Anniversary Edition, SRT8 Core, Mopar Edition, SRT8s, R/T, SRT8 392, and custom R/T. My favorite is obviously the SRT8 392. All of the photos above were snapped in chronological order. Recently, Dodge unveiled the refreshed 2015 Challenger at the New York Auto Show. It has styling influences from the 1971 Challenger and the finished product looks incredible. Dodge sure knows how to pull off retro correctly. The 2015 model has the same engine lineup as the outgoing 2014 model. The Dodge Challenger is a great car; I would take it over a Charger but not over a Camaro or Mustang.

SRT Viper GTS (2013-)

Don't you dare call this a Dodge. This is the SRT Viper, the only model currently in Chrysler's performance sub-brand lineup (the upcoming Barracuda is coming later). It is my favorite Chrysler product that is currently on the market today. Power comes from a naturally-aspirated 8.4-liter V10 making 640 HP and 600 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual. Lately, Viper sales haven't been very strong and as a result, Chrysler has decided to lay off employees at the Viper's production facility in Detroit. Sure, the Viper is fast, good-looking, and has one of the largest engine displacements in the U.S., but it isn't as great of an all-around sports car as the Corvette Stingray in my opinion.
