Best of Car Spotting 2013 Part 2

Here is the second half of the Best of Car Spotting 2013 compilation. It includes a Jaguar E-Type coupe, two Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMGs, and two Lamborghini Aventadors. What is your favorite car out of the entire compilation? Let me know in the comments section below. If you have to, refer back to part one to see more of the selection. My personal favorite would have to be the two Lamborghini Aventadors I came across at an In-N-Out Burger in Santa Clarita on my way back from the L.A. Auto Show in November. To all of our viewers, happy new year and I am looking forward to getting better pictures in 2014.

Best Of Car Spotting 2013

2013 was a pretty good year for car spotting. I did see tons of interesting cars everywhere I went throughout the year. Pictured below are some of the best cars I saw out and about this year. Some of them may have been in earlier posts. Being at car shows or in museums don't count for this compilation. Included in this compilation in this particular order are a Bentley Flying Spur, Audi R8, Rolls-Royce Phantom, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Delorean DMC-12, Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, Ferrari F430 Spider, Bentley Continental GT, Mercedes-Benz Unimog, Ferrari 458 Italia, Tesla Model S (best-looking one I've seen all year), Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, and Fisker Karma. This is only part one of the full compilation, so watch this space for more.

Youabian Puma

The Youabian Puma made its debut at the L.A. Auto Show and stirred up quite a bit of controversy. It was created by an L.A.-based company founded by a plastic surgeon. This car is in a league of its own and commands attention wherever it goes. It barely even fits on the road and would be extremely difficult to park. A lot of this car originally came from the Volvo C70 (i.e. interior, folding hardtop, top half of the car, headlamps [sort of]) and the taillamps  were taken straight from the Buick Enclave. Under the hood is a 7.0-liter V8 churning out 505 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, which is paired to a six-speed automatic. 0-60 mph happens in 5.9 seconds and it achieves 14 mpg city and 22 mpg highway. Priced at $1.1 million, the Youabian Puma is for wealthy people who desire to stand out from the conventional. I have two words to summarize this abnormal vehicle: horrendous and overpriced. I am personally not a huge fan of it.

Campagna T-Rex 16S

This is the Campagna T-Rex, a three-wheeler from a small, independent company based out of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The one featured here is powered by a 1.6-liter BMW inline-six producing 160 horsepower and 129 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 mph is accomplished in approximately four seconds and top speed is estimated at 160 mph. It comes with a six-speed manual and power is sent to the rear wheel. The T-Rex 16S weighs in at 1100 lbs. and has a base price of $65k. It is classified as a motorcycle, but thanks to California's DMV rules, a motorcycle license or helmet is not required to drive it. The T-Rex 16S would be a blast to drive, but it is very impractical and grabs attention everywhere it goes. This is a neat vehicle, but I'm not that interested in having one as a daily driver. I'd rather be driving what I feel is a better car, which will have four wheels rather than three. Pictured below is the other model in Campagna's lineup, the V13R, which is powered by a Harley-Davidson engine. I personally think that the V13R is not as appealing as the T-Rex.

1956 Jaguar XKSS

The next several posts will also be from the L.A. Auto Show, except almost all of these aren't auto show debuts; some of you have heard about a good amount of these long before this year's L.A. Auto Show. This Jaguar XKSS was formerly owned by Steve McQueen, actor and fellow car enthusiast. It is a very nice car and is probably worth millions of dollars. It also appears to be in excellent condition. This Jaguar XKSS is currently on display at the Petersen Auto Museum in Los Angeles. I have been there a few times and plan on going back in one week. It's a very cool place and has some of the world's rarest and most interesting cars. If you're in the L.A. area or plan on traveling to the City of Angels, I suggest that you make a visit there; it's definitely worth it.
